2009-2010 Resident Leadership Awards
Congratulations to the Following Residents:
Dr. Nicole Green was awarded the Family Medicine Resident Leadership Award by the CFPC.
Dr. Rebekah Shoop, one of our Family Medicine residents, was
awarded the VIU Alumni Horizon Award for her work in founding and
serving as Director of Canada-Comitancillo Alliance for Rural Health in
one of the poorest regions of Guatemala.
Drs. Mohamed Alarakhia, Albert Mensah, Erin Hoh, Ratheishan Rajesan, and Jennifer Dignam were awarded the inaugural John Snow Cup at the Department-wide Research Day for their research into use of a patient-portal in monitoring patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Dr. Susan Scovil was awarded the Ben Finkelstein Award for her outstanding contribution to the psychosocial aspect of family medicine.
