Faculty Coordinator, Standardised Patient Program - Faculty of Health Sciences
The Standardised Patient Program (SPP) currently resides within the Centre for Simulation Based Learning but will move into the new McMaster Downtown Centre for Primary Care in 2013. Working with the staff SPP Coordinator, the Faculty Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the overall functioning and educational impact of the SPP and for maintaining the highest quality of the SP through a process of continuous evaluation and quality assurance. The Faculty Coordinator reports to the Director of the Centre for Simulation Based Learning.
Specific responsibilities include:
- Ensuring the a highest quality standardized patient program is being delivered and maintained
- Ensuring that the cases are up to date and comply with best-practice guidelines
- Ensuring an on-going process for case review and renewal
- Liaising regularly with the major users of SPP
- Overseeing the booking procedure of the SPs
- Overseeing the training of the SPs
- Developing educational material for users of the SPP within the Program for Faculty Development and the Program for Continuing Health Sciences Education
- Ensuring the development of SP capabilities at the Waterloo and Niagara regional campuses
- Chairing the SPP Advisory Committee
The appointment is for three years, renewable once. The time commitment is on day per week and a stipend of $40,000 is applied to the role.
