The medical school has expanded to 160 with further expansion to 175 next year.  There is an expectation that Family Medicine will take 50% of the students.

Brampton:

Will be part of the CaRMS match for July, 2008

St. Catharines/Burlington:

The Department is hoping to develop  residency programs in both of these areas within the next three years.

AFP:

The AFP contract should soon be available.  This will have implications in terms of expansion in GFT numbers.  Stay tuned for more information

Return to Work Coordinator:

As part of a research project, the Department has partnered with the OCFP in hire a return to work co-ordinator for the two family practice units.  This is a pilot project lasting approximately six to nine months and would require involvement of approximately five physicians from the two units to become facilitators/leaders in this initiative.  If you are interested in becoming involved in this project or would like further information, please contact Linda Hilts (hiltls@mcmaster.ca)
