OSCAR-CAISI is the Silver Award Winner in the Category of "Efficiency and Operational Improvements – Not For Profit" in the Canadian Information Productivity Award 2007 (http://cipa.ca/). CIPA is a celebration of IT and innovation implementation excellence in all types of organizations across the country. A CIPA award constitutes the highest form of recognition for the capabilities of an organization and its executives.
With this award, the community that has developed the OSCAR-CAISI Project has been recognized as being one of the top 10 not for profit IT innovation projects in Canada. Our community project shares this recognition with major projects and organizations including large hospitals, universities, City corporations and provincial ministries.
CAISI (http://caisi.ca) is a developer partner of OSCAR-McMaster which is a Free/Open Source Software (FOSS) project of the McMaster University. CAISI has the high goal of seamlessly integrating care for client, with client control, across multiple sectors (shelters, hospitals, community health care providers, allied agencies, housing, legal and corrections) to help end homelessness for individuals and for the community.
Integrated care will help individuals get continuous case management across agencies and sectors, help with population level care to fight TB and vaccine preventable diseases, and help provide the community access to real time information for advocacy and policy development to end homelessness.
