The Department of Family Medicine is seeking a Site Development Coordinator for the Halton region.

This message is sent on behalf of Nancy Fowler, Director, PG, David Price, Chair and Sue Murray, Manager, Education

The Halton region was home to its first cohort of full-time Family Medicine residents in July, 2011. This is a very exciting time for the program as we look forward to our second cohort coming in 2012 and graduating our first cohort of residents from the Halton program. With the placement of residents in the area, it requires that we continue to expand our infrastructure to support this initiative.

As such, it is now time that we move from a Site Development Coordinator role, currently held by Dr. Graham Swanson at one half day per week, to a larger, all-encompassing Site Director role at two days per week. This role will require the incumbent to participate on the Regional Education Council as well as form a local education council, assist with the development of region-specific rotations to meet the curriculum requirements, provide a lead role in all resident affairs, act as mentor and recruiter for all preceptors, develop Faculty Development and other academic sessions for both Faculty and residents as well as be the key contact for both the Burlington CEC as well as the Halton CEC. This role has been managed differently at different sites. In some sites, it is held by one person. In other sites, it has been split between two people with one person being identified as the lead.

A copy of the full job description is attached. Nancy, David and Sue welcome your application and will be available to answer any questions that you may have regarding the role. The remuneration for this role is $80,000, will be for a three-year term (renewed annually) and will be provided with 0.5 FTE of administrative support.

Again, this is a very exciting time to be in Halton as we move forward on the heels of the great work done by Dr. Graham Swanson. We look forward to hearing from you.
