  • Inner City Hamilton Urban Core We are located at 71 Rebecca Street (corner of John and Rebecca), in the heart of the downtown core. We are considered to be an inner city CHC and as such we are well integrated with all of the other resources available in Hamilton's core.
  • Shelter Health Network, Inner City Health Horizontal elective experience with the Shelter Health Network, Inner City Health for half a day per week is available to residents at 2 of the sites of Shelter Health Network.

  • STD Clinic The STD clinic is a confidential walk-in clinic which provides treatment and testing for sexually transmitted infections to patients of all ages, demographics and sexual orientations. The clinic provides an opportunity for residents to increase their comfort level with taking a sexual history and provides experience with identifying and treating a wide range of sexually transmitted infections.

  • OB/GYN Lots of gyne pathology and experience doing endometrial biopsies and IUD insertion/removal. Other gyne procedures include cervical polyp removal, biopsy of skin lesions

  • General Surgery Minimal OR time but lots of out-patient experience including monthly breast cancer clinic which can be done weekly with other surgeons. Tip: set up elective with Dr. Gately personally or ask for his team specifically

  • Research Residents interested in a research experience, to pursue a specific scholarly interest in skill are for example can arrange to do a weekly half day horizontal Research Elective during the full time Family Medicine block in both first and second year. This is also offered as a block elective for second year residents.
