- Optometry – University of Waterloo School of Optometry satellite clinic is located within The Centre for Family Medicine at 25 Joseph Street. Dr. Dan Hayhoe, Optometrist sees a variety of usual and unusual eye conditions, such as conjunctivitis, cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and strabismus.
- Memory Clinic – Friday afternoons. Assessment and management of MCI and dementia by the family physician. Home visits; social work component; will be paired with a Nurse Educator for duration of experience. Helpful reading material provided, to be read prior to elective**. Two residents at a time; recommended to attend four clinics for optimal experience.
- Anticoagulation Clinic – Wednesday mornings. Dr. Jeff Nagge, clinical pharmacist, has developed a Point-of-Care Clinic. Immediate results from blood test; medications reviewed; patient education. Reading material provided, to be read prior to elective**.
- Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Clinic – Hypertension & dyslipidemia - Friday mornings. Dr. Jeff Nagge, clinical pharmacist and Dr. Spanglet, Internist combine expertise to adjust/initiate medications; order appropriate laboratory follow-up, and schedule follow-up with family physician
- Failure To Thrive Clinic – Monday afternoons. Marg Alfieri, Dietitian and Dawn Spence, Nurse Practitioner provides pediatric & nutritional assessment and advice in a team approach.
- Diabetes Management – Tuesday mornings at 73 King Street site. Marg Alfieri, Dietitian provides early teaching and nutritional intervention for patients newly diagnosed
- Chiropracty – Most days at 10B Victoria Street South. Chiropractic treatment of MSK disorders; most commonly treats back and neck pain. See what modalities of treatment are used. Reading material provided prior to elective**.
- Chiropody – Mondays and Wednesdays. Todd Porter treats all types of foot conditions; diabetic foot care; orthotics.
- Marital & Family Therapy – Observe individual, couple or family therapy. Annette Dekker, M & FT and Colleen McMillan, Social Worker at 73 King Street site
- Nursing Home Visits – Thursday mornings. Dr. Peter Whitby manages patient care at Heritage House in St. Jacobs.
