PPRG Biography
The McMaster University Postpartum Research Group (PPRG)is made up of a dynamic team of researchers and family physicians. It is based in the Department of Family Medicineat McMaster University. Members of the PPRG are: Cheryl Levitt, MBBCh, CCFP, FCFP, Professor; Elizabeth Shaw, MD, CCFP, FCFP, Associate Professor; Janusz Kaczorowski, PhD, Associate Professor; Russ Springate, MD, CCFP, Associate Professor; and Sharon Wong, MSc, Research Associate. Associate members of the PPRG are John Sellors, MD, Senior Medical Advisor for PATH (Program for Appropriate Technology in Health) in Seattle, WA, USA and Murray Enkin, MD, Professor Emeritus in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, McMaster University.
A major focus of the PPRG has been to produce systematic reviews of the published literature on various routine postpartum interventions. The group is also active in presenting their work at various conferences.
