  • New Pilot Research Funding Available for Family Medicine Faculty: Family Medicine Research has set aside $20,000 for the 2007/08 Year to fund pilot research projects. The study
    should address areas of research related to primary care and should be designed to produce findings that can be used to support the preparation of a research proposal submitted for external funding within 2008/09. Maximum funding allotted to a project will be $5,000. For more information visit our website http://fammedmcmaster.ca/research

  • Funding to Support Presentation of Scholarly Work: There will now be funding to support presentation of scholarly work is intended to foster dissemination of research and educational innovation generated within the Department of Family Medicine. There is a maximum amount of funding available across the department each year. Faculty members and trainees are eligible. The annual maximum amount available is $1,000 per faculty member or trainee. Information and forms will be posted in the research section on DFM website shortly. An email will also be sent around to the department.
  • Comings and Goings: 
    • Deb Farquhar: We wish her all of the best of success as she leaves our group to join the School of Nursing, working with the National Collaborating Centre for Methods and Tools (NCCMT).
    • John Cairney: We welcome John Cairney who will be starting on March 3rd and taking on the role of Associate Research Director.
