Research Resources

Conducting research is fundamental activity for a clinician in an academic environment.  Research identifies gaps in patient care, it tests new approaches in patient care diagnosis and management, it tells us whether proposed practice innovations are successful, and it contributes to the growing essential body of primary care research that is needed to evolve primary care into the next century.

Many clinicians do not obtain formal training in research as part of their professional education.  A number of Department members have indicated that they would benefit from access to resources and support to enhance their ability to develop research studies on their own or in collaboration with others. The Department has identified the need for members to enhance their knowledge and skills in research.
