MF1-MF2 Family Medicine Experience
The Department of Family Medicine at McMaster University is involved in the Medical Foundations 1 or 2 portion of the undergraduate programme offering a mandatory Family Medicine experience.
This early introduction to clinical medicine offers medical students a chance to work with family practitioners and real patients in a primary care setting. Students are also able to practice professional skills including communication and physical exam skills as well as developing their own professionalism. This experience in a family physician's office is for one half-day a week for six weeks. Students may request an additional six week elective based on supervisor availability.
This Family Medicine experience is highly valued by students.
